Recent Portrait Work

It has been far too long since I have posted to this blog. With the craziness of winterguard rehearsals and competitions with Mandeville High School, senior photo shoots, weddings, engagement shoots, and the occasional sports assignment, to say I have been busy over the past 2-3 months would be an understatement. But I wanted to take some time out of editing to post a few of my favorite portraits from the past few months. The photos below were taken either inside or outside the studio (the backyard of the studio for several) or at Fontainebleau State Park which is only about 5 minutes from where the studio is located.

Senior Portraits 2013 - Lily & Mikayla

It has been a very very busy two months, but I wanted to take a few minutes out of editing to share some of my favorites images from a senior portrait session in February. I had the pleasure of photographing two students from Dutchtown High School who decided to combine their sessions. We shot photos in and around the studio as well as at Fontainebleau State Park in Mandeville. It was a pretty cold day but the light was fantastic and made for great photos! Here are my favorites from the day.

**There are still a few senior photo sessions available in April. Contact me through my contact page on my website (www.clphotosonline.com) for more information**

Winterguard: Stopped & In Motion

I wanted to post something a little different than my normal best of images from the most recent LCGPC winterguard and indoor percussion show. While I was shooting pictures of two of the Scholastic A guards, Erath and Comeaux,  I decided to have a little fun and try some slower shutter speeds when most of the performers were spinning flag. With the black curtain behind them and light colored silks I was hoping to make some interested images with a lot of movement. Below are a few of the photos with the slower shutter (1/3 shutter, f4.5 aperture, ISO 250, 70mm lens on the Canon EOS-1D X) and a few of my favorite stopped action photos.
