Super Regionals - LSU vs Stony Brook

With dark clouds looming over Alex Box Stadium, the LSU Tigers took the field against the Stony Brook Seawolves on Friday, June 8 in what would be a three game series with as many ups and downs as the weather. It had been almost a year since I had shot a baseball game so I was looking forward to covering the series. Game one was one of the most exciting games I have every covered with back to back home runs from both teams in the 9th and 10th innings. The stormy weather kept it interesting forcing the 12th inning of game one to be played on Saturday before game two. LSU would go on to win game one but lose game two. The stormy weather forced game three to be postponed until Sunday evening which made for nice light in the beginning of the game. The entire series produced a lot of emotion filled images. I am always a little nervous at these types of games because you never know where exactly the final winning reaction will take place and if you will be blocked or not, either by players or other photographers/videographers (and for those photographers reading this I am sure you know who I am referring to). Since Stony Brook was leading LSU by a large margin, I setup facing the Stony Brook dugout and decided that I would stay focused on the players in the dugout and follow them out if the Seawolves maintained their lead and defeated LSU. Well, my plan worked out. I followed the players out then quickly switched focus to the pitcher and catcher and shot several frames before being blocked. Overall I was happy with my images from throughout the series. Below are some of my favorites.
